COUNTY CONTEST INFORMATION
Due to busy schedules, we will not be having a formal county competition. However, each 4-H'er is HIGHLY encouraged to present their presentation for Sierra and/or Kaci before District. This will give you another practice opportunity and will allow some comments before you head to the District level.

SCHEDULE
10:00 AM -- Registration
10:30 AM -- Contests begin (if you are in multiple contests, the order of your day will be given at check-in)
Awards will be presented in each room at the end of all contests in that room.

AGE GROUPS
Junior--Grades 3-5
Intermediate--Grades 6-8
Senior--Grades 9-12
Juniors & Intermediates may compete on the same team, but will compete in the Intermediate age group. Seniors must compete with other Seniors.

COST
$15 per person
If you sold 10 or more raffle tickets in 2024, or are a first-year 4-H'er, then your fees are covered by the Lynn County Adult Leaders Association. If you register for the contest but do not end up competing, then you will be responsible for reimbursing your entry fee and will receive an invoice from Lynn County 4-H.
If you did not sell raffle tickets, then you will be responsible for paying your entry fee. You will receive an invoice from Lynn County 4-H. If you do not compete, you are still responsible for paying the entry fee. Those fees are not returned once registration has been completed.
Please ignore any invoices/requests for payment that come from anyone other than Lynn County 4-H.

GENERAL INFORMATION
4-H'ers can compete individually or as a team of 9.
4-H'ers may enter multiple Talent Showcase categories.
4-H'ers can enter Talent Showcase and either an Educational Presentation or Public Speaking.
SENIORS: You can enter one Talent Showcase for a Wednesday contest and one Thursday contest at Texas 4-H Roundup.
Wednesday -- Choreographed Routines, Variety Show, Musical/Instrumental, Vocal
Thursday -- 4-H Skit, Poetry/Prose, Solo/Band Performance
If you register for multiple contests, scheduling will be done to have you compete early in the contest in the room with the lowest entries. You will receive your order of contests at registration. Be prepared to leave the room and immediately go compete in your other category.
A piano will be available, but all other instruments will need to be provided by the contestants.
Vocal contestants will need to provide their own background music.
SENIORS--the top 2 presentations in each category advance to Texas 4-H Roundup in June on the Texas A&M campus.
There will NOT be access to WiFi or the internet. Please plan your PowerPoints and videos accordingly. You may provide a hotspot or have all materials downloaded before contest day.
The Extension Office will be sending school excuses to each school, as well as checking grade eligibility per UIL rules.
If you need any accommodations for this contest, please email those to Kaci no later than April 15th.

Bring your spare change to the contest on May 5th. Donations will help First Baptist Church Floydada remodel its playground.

More information will be posted as it becomes available.
You must present the same presentation as you did at District.

Set Up/Take Down: 4 minutes total
Presentation: 6 minutes
